fter the story appeared, the decision was made to continue the Mustang program until recently (1993) when Ford stopped making them.  The last one was retired about 5 months ago and was driven by both the trooper pictured (Sgt. Larry Varner) and then Trooper Mike Cunningham from Troop F.
